In Their Eyes Were Watching immortal, Zora Neale Hurston shows the ever-changing life of the protagonist, Janie, as she journeys by means of multiple marriages, searching for the fulfillment of her hopes and dreams. Janie fights through marriage associate hardships, searching for this state of fulfillment, stand for by the horizon. To Janie, the horizon symbolizes her hopes and dreams: of exemption to do what she wants and real love. Janie gets close-hauled to the horizon as she moves forward from nurse to Logan, then extraneous from Logan to Jody, and finally onward from Jody to teatime Cake, with whom she images the horizon.\n nanny-goat teaches Janie that what is important in life is material wealthiness. At a recent age, Janie is ridiculed in school for not having a house, so Nanny saves up and buys a house.
